Graph Bugs

Networks reveal patterns that disappear when data points are viewed alone. Today’s guest is Celine Wüst, a master’s student at ETH Zurich specializing in secure and reliable systems, shares her work on automated software testing for graph databases. Celine shows how fuzzing—the process of automatically generating complex queries—helps uncover hidden bugs in graph database management systems like Neo4j, FalconDB, and Apache AGE.

Celine Wüst: I'm Celine and I am currently nearing the end of my Master's degree in Computer Science at ETH Zürich. For my Bachelor's Thesis, I made Dinkel, a Cypher fuzzer which outperforms all previous approaches. During my thesis, my interest in automated software testing grew, though I still love creating all kinds of tools that make my life, and possibly yours, easier.
