Julien Herzen is an Engagement Director at Unit8, a Swiss Data & AI services company. His interests revolve around applied Machine Learning, Optimization, Generative Models and Time Series. He is leading the development of two open source projects: Darts (time series) and VeGANs (generative models). Julien has experience leading engineering and data science teams and projects, working in academic, corporate and startup environments. Before Unit8, he was a lead data scientist at Swisscom (largest Swiss telco), where he was in charge of both the mobility insights and the open data efforts. Julien has a PhD in Computer Science from EPFL, Switzerland, and he also worked as a researcher in the Silicon Valley.
